Design assistance and preparation of construction documents were given to the very talented lighting designer Robert Newell. This gorgeous carriage house was an addition to the existing restored home (now landmarked as historic). The height was allowed due to the historic nature of the home. The height allowed for the presence of a hayloft, a necessity for carriage houses of the past. The building addresses public view prominently from both street views. With doors to storage from the side street view and garage doors from the street-side view, the neighbors can enjoy the elegant detailing of this building from a panoramic view. A planting shed was designed by Robert and Pam for their use and enjoyment. The siding, gable details, and stucco infill make the building a wonderful accent to the existing home. It was a pleasure working on this project, Robert loved the historical character of the town of Westfield, and obviously his home. To see Robert’s talent as a lighting designer please look at Immaculate Conception Church in institutional/Religious. His work is a pleasure to enjoy, as was working with him in collaboration.
